Evaporator Coil Equipment Replacement Modifications
Reclaim: Removal of all refrigerant in the existing system.
Disposal: Dispose of the failed unit at the property and the dispose of the reclaimed Freon up to EPA required standards.
Secondary Drain Pan: Metal drain under evaporator coil or air-handler to catch any water dripping from the unit to help stop any ceiling damage.
Float Switch: Connects to the secondary drain pan that switches off the unit if water is detected in the pan. This can prevent costly secondary damage inside the home.
Blowout Valve: Access valve installed on the main A/C drain line to be able to properly clear clogged drain lines to the main house plumbing.
Line Set Modification: Modifying copper lines from evaporator coil to condenser to fit properly and neatly.
Drain Line Modification: Modifying primary and secondary drain lines to connect to the new evaporator coil and if needed the secondary drain pan due to new size and restrictions in the attic.
Access Door: Installed on supply transition to open and see inside to service coil. This prevents air leaks that would be caused by cutting into transition during service and routine maintenance.
Ductwork Modifications: Modifying ductwork to attach to the new evaporator coil by properly sealing with tape and mastic sealant where needed.
Transition: Connects the furnace to the new larger sized high efficiency evaporator coil.
Plenum: Specially sized box that connects to the evaporator coil that distributes air to ductwork. It is insulated to prevent it from sweating due to temperature differences.
Armoflex Line Insulation: Insulate lines to prevent weathering or water from leaking on ceiling
Liquid Line Drier: Used to stop small debris in lines from getting into coil and causing restriction at TXV or piston.
